Our History

Since 2009, The S.T.A.R.S. Youth Enrichment Program (acronym for Skills, Talents, Action, Results, and Success) has teamed-up with various celebrity personalities – including professional athletes and coaches, legislators, and business executives to mentor over 1,000 children between the ages of 8-15. Along with the assistance of various law enforcement agencies throughout the United States, the camp is totally free to its attendees and the average number of camp attendees per location has been around 150 individuals.

The day camp consists of a half-day of physical activity and instruction while the other portion involves a classroom and facilitator experience. Typically, the gym instruction has been basketball oriented while the classroom environment has consisted of life skills. Examples include: financial literacy, healthy lifestyle, self-esteem building, and conflict resolution themed modules. Alongside the classroom and gym modules, S.T.A.R.S. provides our camp participants with complimentary child identification kits and dental screens. Mobile health units are available for our participant’s parents to take advantage of during the hours of registration. S.T.A.R.S. finds value in the mobile health units because it allows parents to gather information regarding healthy household lifestyle habits, blood pressure checks, and diabetes pre-screening.
